A small drinking cup carved from a single piece of horn, with a relief design worked around the outside by hand. The walls are thin where they should be and the carving stands proud of the surface, so you feel the pattern as much as see it. The horn is dark and slightly translucent at the rim. It is made as an object to keep, not a daily mug.

The stone
The cup is cut and hollowed from one block of horn, then the relief is carved into the standing wall rather than added on. That means the design and the body are the same piece of material, which is what separates a carved object from a moulded one. The tone runs from near-black at the base to a warmer translucence at the thin rim, following the natural grain.
In the lore
Horn cups have a long place in Eastern ceremony and as collector objects, and a carved cup was kept in lore as a piece passed between generations. We offer that history with the object, not as any claim about the cup itself.
The craft
Hand-carved from a single horn block, relief worked by one maker, then finished and polished. Because it is shaped by hand, the wall thickness and carving depth are unique to this cup. Sold as a display and collector object. One piece only.
Wear & care
Treat it as a carved object, not everyday tableware: rinse gently with cool water if used, never soak, and keep it away from heat and dishwashers. Dry at once and wipe with a soft cloth. A little light oil now and then keeps the horn from drying.
